SummerFun Climbing 1
Beginning Climbing and Rappelling
The SummerFun Climbing 1 Class was initiated last year and quickly became our favorite climbing class.
On Saturday we climb at Enchanted Rock and then on Sunday head to Reimers Ranch for some steep limestone and excellent swimming :)
Simply put... this is a Summer Camp for Adults (though kids can come too :)
On Saturday we will begin our weekend extravaganza climbing granite in the shade in Echo Canyon at Enchanted Rock.
We will climb faces and cracks; chimneys and laybacks... all of the techniques you need to climb effectively on any kind of rock.
This is our Day 1 in our Enchanted Rock Climbing 1 class.
You can either camp at the park or stay in Fredericksburg Friday and Saturday night.
After climbing on Saturday we enjoy fine air-conditioned dining and frozen margaritas in Fredericksburg.
On Sunday we drive to Reimers Ranch off Hamilton Pool Road just outside of Austin.
Now that you have some climbing skills we head to the steep shady cliffs facing the Pedernales and fight gravity until about 2:00 (which is about all you can climb on steep limestone anyway :) and once the climbs are in the sun head to the sandy beach at the end of the park and cool off in the pristine water of the Pedernales.
These swimming pics were taken at the height of the drought last summer.
This is one of the last swimming holes in central Texas passed over by the masses!
We will have it all to ourselves and enjoy ice-cold libations as we beat the heat in style!
