Spectacular Enchanted Rock State Natural Area in Texas sets the stage for this weekend class.  Each weekend class is designed as a two-day adventure.  There is camping available or you can stay in Fredericksburg — just twenty minutes away.

Group Lessons

Group Lessons Group lessons offer the adventurous alternative to the usual classroom team building format.

Group Lessons We have more experience working with boy scouts, girl scouts and church groups than any other guide service at Enchanted Rock - and we love teaching kids. We offer BSA Merit Badge counselling, rappelling and other outdoor group packages for all types of youth organizations.

Group Lessons Mountain Madness can design a course for your group to help promote trust, confidence and teamwork -- or to just get away for a day for some good outdoor fun.

If fulfilling BSA Climbing Merit Badge requirements is your troop’s goal, please let us know during the registration process.  Our qualified staff includes a certified BSA climbing director and Eagle Scouts, who will help you streamline the merit badge process while adhering to BSA rules for successful completion.  (Hey, John Glenn was an Eagle Scout and look where he went!)

Enchanted Rock
Course fee:		 includes climbing instruction, climbing gear, and $10 daily TPWD guided user fee.
For groups of six or more: $80 per person (per day)
SPECIAL: Scout, Church and Youth groups: $75 per person (per day)
Austin Limestone
Course fee:		 includes climbing instruction and climbing gear.
For groups of six or more: $65 per person (per day)
SPECIAL: Scout, Church and Youth groups: $55 per person (per day)

If you have a certified BSA Climbing Instructor in your troop, they can work as a guide and you can take $125 off the total price!

Group Rappelling and Caving


We will take your group of up to fifteen out for the best rappelling at Enchanted Rock.  Our head guide will oversee 3 rappels (one of which goes into a cave!) after which we will go spelunking through the 1,000’ cave on top of Main Dome!  This outing is fun-tastic!
Course fee: $450 plus the TPWD guide fee of $10 per person ($5 for non-profits).
