Rock Climbing 1-A
Beginning Climbing
Climbing 1-A introduces basic climbing techniques and safety instruction for beginning climbers and climbers who want to brush up on their basic skills.
Students learn the fundamentals of friction and crack climbing, and apply their knowledge on a series of roped climbs that range in height from 60 to 100 feet.
Day One starts with safety instruction, rope management, belay skills, and basic climbing movement.
On Sunday, you learn new climbing techniques to round out your basic climbing skills.
Throughout the weekend we stress proper technique, to enable a more successful climbing experience. The objective is to make you feel comfortable on the rock and increase your level of confidence as you cruise to the top of the Dome.
No prior experience is required.
Climbs for these classes are rated 5.4 - 5.8+. Minimum class size of three required.
